Producer: Fazenda Pinheiro, Family Guardabaxo
950 meters above sea level
Fazenda Pinheiro is situated in the state Sao Paulo in the northern region of Mococa. We were on site during the harvest in June 2024. Fazenda belongs to the Guardabaxo family, who is also co-founder of OCAFI. OCAFI ist an interesting business model. It is neither a coffee producer nor a processor, neither an importer nor a coffee trader: it is all in one. The direct line makes it much easier for us to purchase this beautiful variety. Es handelt sich hier um die C. arabica Varietät Obatá. It is processed on the Fazenda as Natural in the harvest months from April to August. This means that the beans are dried in the pulp of the cherry. This processing method produces a beautiful full body in the cup, combined with dark chocolate and a few blobs of dried fruit. These properties are particularly recommended for espresso-based preparation methods.
